Sweeney leads UMP DIRTcar Modifieds national point standings

Randle Sweeney of Clifty , Ky. , saw his amazing 10-race win streak come to an end with a second-place finish on June 6 at Paducah ( Ky. ) International Raceway, but he got back on the winning track the following night at Soggy Bottom Raceway in Morgantown , Ky. , and remained atop the UMP DIRTcar Modified national points standings.

Sweeney, 43, has now won in 12 of his last 14 starts and owns 15 overall triumphs.

Todd County Fire win Soccer Championship

In the Ambush 6 v. 6 soccer league in Hopkinsville the Todd County Fire won the Tournament championship and were regular season champions in the Boys Middle School division finishing with a 8-1 record. Hundreds of WKU Hilltoppers fans welcomed home the Tops following their NCAA Sweet Sixteen matchup with #1 seed UCLA. Three former Todd Central players have played for the Hilltoppers, Mike Wells 2001-2004, Greg Glass 1993-1995 and Gary Carver 1981-1984.

Todd Central softball coach hits big time in the world of college officials

Todd Central softball coach and assistant football coach Troy Winders has been officiating basketball now for over 10 years. On Sunday night he took another step up the ladder by officiating in the NCAA Women's Tournament. Winders was in College Park, Maryland to officiate an opening round game between Duke and Murray State. The Hilltoppers were the talk of the sports world across the nation today after Lyon County's Ty Rogers sank a 3 point shot with time expiring to give WKU a 101-99 win over Drake in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.

Rebels selected to 2007 All-Kentucky New Era football team

Todd Central football player Matt Buis was selected to the 2007 All-Kentucky New Era team on defense. Buis played linebacker for the Rebels. Aaron Power, DeAndre Mensah, Jake Perdue, Ethan Boley, Terrance Moore and Ethan Power were honorable mention selections.
