New Governor's wife has Elkton connections

The wife of Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear apparently has a long ago Elkton connection. On a recent Comment on Kentucky television show Jane Beshear told her interviewer that her parents met in the western Kentucky town of Elkton. After doing some quick math that would have likely happened around 60 years ago. If anyone can send us any additional information on this please do so.

The Governor's inauguration is tomorrow but we hope to be able to get in touch with Mrs. Beshear soon to at least get the names of her parents and we'll try to get a report put together.

Of course Governor Beshear is also somewhat of a local fellow growing up not too far from here in Dawson Springs. Beshear's parents owned and operated a funeral home and furniture store for many years in Dawson Springs. Our state has a quality person in the Governor's mansion in Steve Beshear and hopefully he can lead the way over the next few years for progress for the state and its citizens.
